The State Nodal Agency Centre of National Trust, Meghalaya has organised the Fourth Badthe Kadam for East Khasi Hills District on the 10th December 2012 in the office premises of the Block Development Officer, Shella Bholaganj Block wherein Shri.C.V.D. Diengdoh, I.A.S, Sub-Divisional Officer (C ) Sohra Sub-Division was the Chief guest. The programme was organized with a view to reach the unreached amongst the disabled as well as to sensitize and enhance sensitivity towards issues rated to disabilities and to create awareness amongst the affected families about the resources available in the state.
Speaking on the occasion,Mr.Diengdoh congratulate the State Nodal Agency for organizing such a meaningful programme and through which the disabled would benefit much and become aware of their rights. He said that we are all equal before God. He said that the programme which is an open inclusive programme participated by a cross section of society is a discoverability campaign for the welfare of persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities. He therefore called upon the disabled to come forward and get themselves enroll and to avail the golden opportunities offered by the government. He then wished the programme a success.
Smt. E.Rynjah and Miss W.B.Khongjee, Legal Aid counselors of the Meghalaya State Legal Service Authority Shillong were the resource persons for this day.
Smt.B.Wankhar, Coordinator State Nodal Agency Centre, Meghalaya, MEPAD, Shillong gave an introductory speech on the programme.
