In honour of the outgoing Additional Deputy Commissioner i/c Sohra Civil Sub-Division, Sohra, Shri.Cyril V.D. Diengdoh, the Officers and Staff of the O/o Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), O/o The Treasury Officer, Sohra and well-wishers of Sohra staged a warm farewell on Wednesday 27 th August 2014 in the Conference Hall. The function was chaired by Shri.Nipon Hajong, MCS, Extra Assistant Commissioner.
Several speakers on the occassion, comprising mostly of Officers and Staff of the amalgamated Office eulogised the outgoing Officer higlighting his services rendered towards uplifting the Sub-Division as a whole.
While thanking for the warm and generous gesture, the outgoing ADC Shri.Cyril V.D. Diengdoh opined that, words spoken at the occassion would continue to be a source of inspiration to him to even work harder. The outgoing ADC was of opinion, that "Sohra will always remain as a special significance" to him as it was here that he began his career. He also expressed his appreciation and thankfulness to the support and co-operation he enjoyed from all the Officers and Staff during his stint in Sohra. He attributed all his success and achievements to the "wonderful team" in Sohra. Recalling his two year tenure in Sohra Civil Sub-Division as the most peaceful, the Officer opined that, it was all possible due to the support of the former EACs viz. Smt.Balakyntiew Ranee, Shri.Ronnie Wahlang, Shri.Jonathan Shylla and all Sub-Divisional Heads and Staff of the Sub-Division. The outgoing officer urged upon the gathering to keep ones mind, heart open, have right attitude as public servants towards duty allotted and empathy to one another and the public at large. In closing, the outgoing ADC, extended his warm welcome to the newly appointed SDO Civil Shri.Ajay Singh Tomer, IAS and wishing him all success he opined that, may his dynamic leadership and ideas uplift Sohra to even greater heights.
Shri.Ajay Singh Tomer, IAS, Sub-Divisional Officer (C), Sohra designate, while speaking on the occasion, said that he was priviledged to be posted in Sohra and was looking forward to serve the people of the Sub-Division. He encouraged the gathering to extend support in generating honest and efficient public service delivery as was done during the tenure of his predecessor.
The programme was closed by a vote of thanks by the Shri.Nipon Hajong, MCS, EAC which was followed by light refreshment.
